Hood River Saddle Club Release of Liability

All ADULT members (18 and over) MUST sign. An adult’s signature covers minor children.

THIS RELEASE WAIVES IMPORTANT LEGAL RIGHTS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING.

● I AGREE, in consideration for my use of the Hood River Saddle Club (HRSC) grounds, and/or participation in any HRSC function, as follows:

● I AGREE that my use or participation, with my horse, as a rider, driver, handler, lease, owner, agent, coach, trainer, or as a parent or guardian of a minor, on HRSC grounds is entirely voluntary. I am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain, suffering or death (“Harm”).

● I AGREE to release the HRSC from all claims for money damages or otherwise for any Harm caused by me or my horse to others, even if the Harm resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the HRSC.

● I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the HRSC. BY SIGNING BELOW, I DO HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE ABOVE NAMED FROM ANY CLAIM OR RIGHT FOR DAMAGES WHICH MIGHT OCCUR TO ME, MY MINOR CHILDREN, OR HORSES WHILE ON CLUB GROUNDS OR WHILE PARTICIPATING IN ANY CLUB FUNCTION. I FURTHER AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL HOOD RIVER SADDLE CLUB RULES, REGULATIONS, AND BYLAWS. Hood River Saddle Club Release of Liability (Most HRSC communication is by email. To join the HRSC, please complete this application, sign the liability release, and return with your annual $75 membership dues to the mailing address above or bring to a club meeting (held first Tuesday, Feb - Dec). ● I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the HRSC and to hold harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse at the HRSC.

● I understand that I am entitled to wear protective equipment without penalty, and I acknowledge that the HRSC encourages me to do so. Minors (under 18) are required to wear a helmet.

● If I am a parent or legal guardian of a minor, I consent to the child’s participation and AGREE to all the above provisions and AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child’s behalf. ● I AGREE that any reference to the HRSC herein is intended to include all of its officers, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers and affiliated organizations.
